A Bathing Ape:
Bus Shelter

in my Intro to Spatial Experience course at FIT (my very first spatial design project, during my sophomore year studying Communications Design), we had to create a bus shelter promoting a brand of our choice. i chose A Bathing Ape, a Japanese streetwear brand founded by Nigo, also known as Tomoaki Nagao, in 1993. BAPE’s product list is quite long, ranging from apparel to home accessories and everything in between. its target audience boils down to the youth interested in exclusive and flashy streetwear. the time of its inception was during the Ura-Harajuku period, a movement from the youth that cultivated Japan’s streetwear scene, and Nigo was a trailblazer and a model figure.

this project required me to do thorough research on the brand and it’s demographic, create a SWOT analysis, and create persona profiles from said research. i also had to find a reason why BAPE would create a bus shelter, wire frame elevations, gather inspiration, a 3D model of the shelter, create a sketch model, and promotional assets.

i utilized Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Sketchup to create this project.
