DTmF Sound Station Fixture: La ESTACIÓN dE SONIDO
in my Placemaking, Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics course at FIT, i was tasked to create free standing display fixture for an existing brand and/or product for a retail setting. a free standing display fixture is usually a stand used in physical retail environments to hold products from which the consumer can shop.
i decided to go with Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny’s sixth studio album, DeBi TiRAR MáS FOToS, as my product of focus. This is an album dedicated to Puerto Ricans around the world, filled with celebration, nostalgia, sadness, perseverance, and so much more. Serving as a love letter to PR and a bold political statement, the tracks consist of thoughtful and well-constructed lyricism as well as bomba and plena sounds. DTmF stands as Bad Bunny's most diverse and well-rounded project to date. I made a CD tower-shaped fixture with four panels: one with vinyl records, one with CDs, one with postcards as a freebie, and one that serves as a listening station where people can choose the track they want to listen to with Concho, the Puerto Rican famous coquí frog.
the project required me to do research on the artist and album’s target audience, gather inspiration, creating featured and collateral products, a graphic palette, a materials palette, flattened designs and a 3D mockup of the CD tower.
i utilized Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, SketchUp and Twinmotion to create this project.

these are my initial sketches. we had to research three different brans/products originally, so i experimented with Hello Kitty and rhode beauty as well.
finalized flat designs made with Adobe Illustrator.
wood base, platform base and decorative light.

these are five postcard designs i made inspired by the album and Puerto Rico.
